Country pumpkins

One of our favorite fall traditions is picking our pumpkins at the Big Red Barn in Santaquin. Our friends Eldon and Jenny introduced us to the barn the first year we were married and we've been going ever since. Each year we would head out around dusk and FREEZE our tails off. This year we got smart and went in the afternoon. Luckily mother nature was also on our side and it was a BEE-utiful day. For the first time we were able to spend a half an hour picking out our pumpkin and wandering through the fields. It's a good thing the weather cooperated because Shaylie was a picky pumpkin picker this year! She didn't want one with a "poky" stem and it had to be light enough for her to carry. She ended up with a small green one and Tru found a small orange/green one. Trent and I settled for a large orange one with a slightly demented side :) Both kids really enjoyed the thrill of the hayride -- country kids would have laughed at us. Don't you ever wish you just lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere like The Pioneer Woman? Every once in awhile (or every other day ...) that sounds like a lot of fun :D

The sun was bright and glaring but we took a million photos anyway. Enjoy :)
